Spades on Arcadia

Spades is one of the most popular trick-taking card games in the world. It requires a blend of strategy, teamwork, and careful bidding. On Arcadia, you can play this classic game against intelligent AI opponents, perfect for honing your skills or enjoying a quick session.

How to Play

  1. Bidding: Each round begins with players bidding the number of tricks they expect to win. Bids of the two partners are added together to form the team goal.
  2. The Goal: Your team must win at least as many tricks as you bid collectively. Winning more than your bid results in "bags," but collect 10 bags and you lose 100 points!
  3. Tricks: Players must follow suit if possible. Spades are always trump. The highest card of the lead suit wins, or the highest spade if any were played.
  4. Breaking Spades: You cannot lead with a spade unless they have been "broken" in a previous trick or you have only spades left in your hand.
